The Haitian Diaspora is spread all across the globe and has always been in need for a central place where people can connect, learn about what’s happening in the various communities, the businesses that provide services to them, share ideas and collaborate, promote their events and activities, and much much more.
The 11th Department exists to fill this gap, thus providing the Haitian Diaspora and Friends of Haiti the tools they need to connect with one another, to do business with Haitian-owned and foreign companies whose target market includes Haitians, to support a cause and non-profit organizations, as well as to keep up with activities of the Haitian government.
This community is not for everyone, but it is for those individuals, companies, non-profits, and government agencies that are passionate about Haiti and are willing to make a difference.
The 11th Department - Proud and Determined.
Fellow Haitians and Friends of Haiti:
I invite you to join me on the 11th Department so we can connect, share ideas, our knowledge, and collaborate on our common interest, which is the advancement of Haiti and of the Haitian People.
Like you, I have fought long and hard for a better Haiti, and also like you, I cannot do it alone. We need each other, Haitians all over, Friends of Haiti, and Government because we are all in the same boat and pursuing the same cause.
The 11th Department is your "playground" to better connect with the professionals, movers and shakers, leaders, and policymakers that help shape what Haiti is today and will become for future generations.
Who am I? I am a Haitian American of Chinese ancestry who left Haiti at a young age. I come from a family of artists and entrepreneurs. If you are interested in seeing my art, you can view some of them here.
I discovered my love for Haiti when I was finally able to proudly say to people, "I am Haitian" (I'll share that story with you later), and that happened while serving as a Linguist in the United States Air Force at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, during the Haitian refugee crisis in 1990 and 1991.
My entrepreneurship interests at this time are mainly in technology, media, events, art and culture.
You can connect with me on the 11th Department here.
