• In The Painter of Jalouzi, we learn the story of Duval Pierre, one man trying to uplift his community—Haiti's largest slum—through color. He envisions a Jalouzi where color is everywhere, and starts by painting houses and buses with a rainbow of pink, red, purple, and turquoise. "Imagine a place without color," Pierre says.
