• PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (sentinel.ht) - If you had a bank account with $1 million [US] in Haitian Gourdes in 2011, today, you would have realized $200,000 [US] in value has been lost, marking a 20% decline in just four years.
  
  It has been a period of rapid down fall, where graphics show the first most recent decline to be January 2011. The decline continued bring the exchang value from 40 HTG to officially 50 HTG; a record low, surpassing the previous mark during the U.S. embargo of the 90s.
  
  According to reports, some financial centers in Haiti are already trading currencies at 53 HTG to the U.S. dollar.
