Overview
- The Nadine Faustin-Parker Foundation, in partnership with the IAAF’s social responsibility programme Athletics for a Better World, organised a two-day athletics camp for students and a clinic for coaches in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince on 4-5 June.
The foundation is run by Nadine Faustin-Parker, a former sprint hurdler who represented Haiti at three editions of the Olympic Games.
It was the second initiative of its kind, following a similar event in April. On both occasions, more than 20 coaches participated in the athletics-specific education training and about 300 students between the ages of 8-18 took part in the athletics camp.
The students and coaches came from 12 different schools. T-shirts and backpacks were given to the students, while the majority of coaches received iPads so they can communicate via video with the foundation coaches to review practice sessions.
