  • A policeman and two other men are to make their first court appearance today after being charged under the anti-gang law for their alleged involvement in the guns-for-drugs trade between Jamaica and Haiti.

    Police Constable Kenneth Reid was charged on Wednesday with being a member of a criminal organisation and providing a benefit to a criminal organisation.

    The other persons charged with being members of a criminal organisation are Kitson Town, St Catherine residents Sheldon Walters otherwise called 'Termite' and Kerry-Ann Smith.

    The police say Walters is also known to be a significant member of one of the major gangs operating in St Catherine.
