  Hold on! Not that kind of stupidity like being dumb. Let me explain. We are proud of our heritage, our culture, our tradition, our history, and of what we’ve done against all odds as a black nation in the early 19th century. We fought for freedom. We got it. We fought for respect, for human rights, for an end to slavery, etc. Not sure we’ve lived up to the promise of being fair to ourselves and to others. For instance, we still have restavecs in our society, don’t we? While this may not be a totally bad thing, but who can assure that those living in such conditions have been treated fairly? More importantly, where do we place them in our society? At the very bottom, in the middle, or at the top? We know the answer to that already. Anyway, my general point is:
  
  What have we done to build on the legacy of our ancestors? ... Proud and stupid
  
  Why do we never seem to realize the divide between “haves” and “haves- nothing” leave us powerless to continue the fight of freedom and equality for all? …Proud and stupid
  
  Why is the diaspora left to defend and protect an image of Haiti damaged by our own ignorance, our hard headedness, our thirst for power, and the obvious lack of consciousness that is needed to advance Haiti's cause? …Proud and stupid
  
  Why shutting down the power and the voice of this group of Haitians (diaspora) that provides the biggest economic support to Haiti – no political voice? …Proud and stupid
  
  Why do we continue to elect people who have no clue what their roles and functions should be? …Proud and stupid
  
  Why stick to a constitutional framework that is flawed, circumstantial, evidently divisive, and has been violated by almost all of its so-called protectors? …Proud and stupid
  
  Why have we allowed our lands to stop producing, our people to continue suffering, our education to still be a rare commodity not a right, our civil liberty to be at risk? …Proud and stupid
  
  Why do we go to churches regularly to witness the notion of “La Noblesse, Le Clergé, et Le Peuple” still be in force? …Proud and stupid
  
  Why do we accept that most church leaders have no roles in helping to fight our earthly economic fights as they promise “roses” in the after-life (heaven)? Why not demanding to live a piece of that heaven on earth? Most of these leaders seem to have found their heaven on earth, aren’t they? …Proud and stupid
  
  Why allowing our standard of living, of respect of other's rights and property, and of freedom of speech to be so low? …Proud and stupid
  
  Why have we evidently put a stop to progress and want to tell the world that we are the best? At what exactly? It seems that we are the best at being proud and stupid.
